About Dr. Eric Schleifer, PhD: Child Psychologist and Father

Dr. Eric Schleifer is a clinical psychologist who has been practicing privately in both New Jersey and Connecticut. For over fifteen years he has used humor and compassion to help children learn to manage and control their emotions while figuring out who they are and what they want in this crazy, fast-paced world. He has developed successful strategies aimed at helping parents to feel more in control as they learn to empower their kids to do the same.

Dr. Schleifer received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Derner Center for Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University, where he wrote his doctoral thesis on the long and short-term effects of video games on children. He lives a mostly happy and sometimes peaceful existence with his wife and two children in Maplewood, NJ.
